Shower

When he stood under the shower and turned the knob, the water was very cold. He jumped away immediately and turned it off. He stood a little away and again turned the hot water knob. But when he felt the water with his hands, it was very cold. He waited for sometime. The hot water was coming through a twisted network of pipes to the bathroom. It was taking time. He pulled a bucket under it and collected the water. He put his hand in the bucket of water and found it has become warm. He pushed the bucket away and stood under the shower. It was very hot. His skin burned. He again moved away abruptly. He turned the Cold water knob and lowered the Hot water knob. Now there was a gush of cold water again. After some attempts in adjusting the knobs at a fine level, he could feel the warm water on his body. He finished bathing and looked for the towel. He saw he hadn’t brought it. He had to go to the bedroom. But then he had to cross the living room. He heard some voice there. He pulled on his trousers and came out of the bath room and moved across the living room to enter the bedroom. He saw his wife talking to her friend. She turned around to introduce her and both of them saw him with wet trousers and water dripping from his hair. He went into the bedroom, dried with a towel and changed over to his shorts and a shirt. His mobile buzzed with a zoom invite. He ran to the laptop on the table by the corner. He opened zoom and saw his boss and few others smiling. His boss asked “How are you?”.

He replied “I am fine”.
